I always knew that I didnt really want to do a traditional business because I understood that making money from a team was better then making money from just your efforts… It’s hard to make a million that way unless your a super genius who designs something like Facebook… however even facebook was created with a team……

Anywho why is it that when we start a business and a speed bump like someone telling us it wont work, or someone telling us no Im not interested, or someone telling us we are crazy for getting in a pyramid stops us from pursuing our dreams… Whats even crazy is more then likely we were excited because we just saw someone else who is making their dreams come true with the business…. So what makes us different from that person? Nothing more then deciding that you wont any longer let roadblocks get in your way.

You must learn that in life nothing worth having is ever easy to have. You have to go through struggles, road blocks, learning pains, and more. If it were easy to be successful we would all be RICH! So this is what you need to do to get over your road blocks…

As soon as you hit one, you need to find someone in your industry who has the success you want and let them know what your roadblock is. Dont keep it to yourself because you’ll never learn how to overcome them. Basically you want to be copying the person who is where you want to be. If you dont know of anyone personally then you need to get on the web and find you someone. Find books to read or even JUST FIND ME ) LOL just playing.

Anywho really when a roadblock gets in your way, promise yourself you wont let that get to you, consult with someone about it and keep it moving and pushing forward.

The most successful people in the world today are also those with the most failures as well… You can never succeed with out failing first.

One of my mentors (Cedrick Harris) taught me that in order to succeed in business you must have multiple ways of marketing. Basically if you want to catch more then one fish then you must have more then one hook in the water. This short blog will give you a few ideas of different marketing techniques I use on a daily basis. They are my hooks in marketing.

Hook 1 – Money Drop Card Marketing. Have you ever seen this fake money around town that when you see it, it looks real but when you pick it up and open it, it’s actually a flyer of some sort. Well these absolutely work great!

Hook 2 – Toll booths. The next time you go to a toll booth check out the car behind you and make sure it’s decent. Then offer the toll attendant enough money to pay for you and the car behind them. Then also give the toll attendant your company cd or a prospecting cd they can pop right into their car to listen to. This is a smooth way to getting prospects left and right.

Hook 3 – Restaurant Waitress/Waiter. Once you finish eating tell your waiter that they did a great job and you would like to ask them a question. “Do you keep your options open to making additional money?” Then provide them your information.

Hook 4 – Upscale clothing/shoe shopping. Just like with the waitress/waiter example do the same thing here. Choose a store where someone is required to help you. If no one comes up to you then it’s pointless.

Hook 5 – Junk Mail. Have you ever noticed that junk mail all has the “No Postage Necessary” on the envelope so take that time to send a nice little letter with your contact information. Someone has to open the letter and more then likely they will be open to money making options.

Hook 6 – Video Marketing. The best way to get people to know more about you is this and while you are doing your videos always include links to your website. Obtain more leads by just being you.

Hook 7 – Product/Service/Company Reviews. Review products/service/businesses via articles online. Of course you want to review something tailored to the products or services you offer. This way you position yourself as a leader and people will come to you when purchasing.

Hook 8 – Social Media. Social media has definitely become a popular way of online marketing however you must keep in mind that the idea is not to spam every person that comes your way but to get to know them and then allow them to ask you about your business.

Hook 9 – Pay Per Click. This is another way of online marketing which allows you to advertise your business with specific keywords. If a person looks up that keyword then you get a better chance of being seen. Then you only pay for the ad if they click on your advertisement.

Hook 10 – Banner Advertisement. Offer another business to exchange banners on each other’s website. The type of businesses you want to offer this to are those whose customers or clients would benefit specifically from your product or services. You dont want to advertise your site on another companies site that offers the same exact things you do but something in that field. For example if you have weight loss products see if a personal trainer could advertise your products on their site and you would advertise their services. That way it’s a win win advertisement offer.

Now you might not be able to start off doing all these hooks but you want to at least pick 2 to 3 of these and start using them today. Remember if your are not marketing your business your are not in business.

So questions to ask…

1. If you are looking for a mentor in your primary business it would be good to know how long they have been doing that type of business and their success. Not necessarily their income but some stats on their success is always great.

2. Do they have a specific system they train their mentees on?

3. Is their a mentorship program available and how long is it?

4. How many people are they mentoring and do they have any testimonials?

5. How much money would you need to invest to get into their program if anything.

6. Do they have any questions for you or about you?

7. Who have they been mentored by

These are a few questions that you should ask when searching for a mentor. Any mentor that understands the importance of this would have no problem allowing you to interview them. Let’s face it a mentor wants as many success stories as they can that is why they’ve decided to help others to succeed.

That’s so unfortunate because so many of us do just this. We spend our downtime not generating any income or knowledge but yet complain for lack of money. Let’s face it we probably spend more time watching TV or giving away money then we do creating money generating actions.
